Founded in 2006, Market Shield Capital (MSC) creates and develops proprietary financing structures protected by an expanding portfolio of patents. We manage funds employing these value-creating structures, which make investments in various asset classes that receive a flow that varies with an index that reflects overall asset class performance.
MSC's patented fund management system is directed towards the creation and operation of a wide range of funds. Our fund structure allows for a continuous chain of responsibility and accountability. The MSC fund manager creates the investment acquisition channels, performs asset underwriting, negotiations, asset management, and disposition. Assets can be managed for fast or slow liquidation to optimize performance. Resulting liquidity can be returned to investors or re-invested in additional fund assets. The fund manager is rewarded for fund value and performance that is the sum result of these functions.
Our patent portfolio, Common Index Securities (United States Patents 7155468 and 7716106) and other patents pending, enables investment in entities that is indexed to a common index, rather than individual company performance. For small business entities, the creation, issuance, trading and management of fund shares as a liquid investment may be accomplished with a relatively stable industry-based risk. The entities receive value from a pool and in return make payments into the pool in an amount that varies according to the index, which causes a corresponding change in the value of the shares. For individual investors, indexed returns can protect against a variety of risks.
